After the test, the marker lamp is placed at room temperature for 1 hour, and then the deposits on the surface of the sample are cleaned with running water. After the test, the sample should be able to work normally and glow under the rated voltage

The frequency should be between 1Hz~3Hz, the reflectors of all light sources should be free from loss of light, fogging, and corrosion, metal parts should be free from corrosion, and the housing should not be deformed or cracked.

Crashworthiness

Fix the sign lamp in the working state on the collision test bench according to the normal working position, and collide the sign lamp successively 1000 times in the vertical direction with a half-sine wave pulse with a peak acceleration of 98m/s2 and a pulse duration of 16ms. During and after the test, the sample should not have unrecoverable structural deformation, mechanical damage, or loose fastening parts; there should be no electrical failures, and the circuits, circuit boards, and connectors should not fall off or loose. The function of the sign lamp should be normal; after the test, the luminous frequency should be between 1Hz~3Hz.

Vibration resistance

Mechanical strength

The sign luminaire works continuously for 30 minutes under the rated voltage, and uses a 500g steel ball to fall freely from a height of 1300mm to the non-metal surface of the sign luminaire. A total of 3 tests are performed. The distance between adjacent drop points should not be less than 100mm. When the area of the non-metallic surface of the sign luminaire is not enough for three drop tests, only one drop test is sufficient. There should be no cracks, cracks, cracks, defects, etc. on the lamp shell, and the sample should be able to work normally.

Shell surface hardness

The surface hardness of the sample shell should not be less than 2H.

Resistance to artificial accelerated aging

After the test, there should be no obvious cracks, depressions, bubbles, erosion or deformation; the transmittance of the sample should not be less than 90% of the pre-test.

What are the shell materials

Different types of led arrow sign use different shell materials. According to the required product functions, the shell material will be selected accordingly. At present, the commonly used polymer material on the shell of the guide brand is PC plastic, also known as polycarbonate. It has zero impact resistance, thermal distortion resistance, good weather resistance and high hardness, so it is suitable for the production of cars and light trucks. Various parts are mainly concentrated in the lighting system, instrument panel, heating plate, defroster and bumper lights made of polycarbonate alloy. We are using PC plastic particles 2807 from Makrolon of Germany.

German Covestro (Bayer) Makrolon 2807 has more excellent physical properties:

PC is an amorphous engineering material with particularly good impact strength, thermal stability,gloss, anti-bacterial properties, flame-retardant properties and pollution resistance. The otched Izod impact stregth of PC is very high, and the shrinkage rate is very low, generally 0.1%~0.2%.

Chemical properties

PC has good mechanical properties. When choosing what quality PC material, it should be based on the final expectation of the product. If plastic parts require higher impact resistance, then use low-flow PC materials; on the contrary, you can use high-flow PC materials, which can optimize the injection molding process.

PC plastic raw material is a new type of thermoplastic, with a transparency of 90%, and is known as a transparent metal. It is rigid and tough, has high impact strength, high dimensional stability and a wide range of use temperature, good electrical insulation properties, heat resistance and non-toxicity, and can be molded by injection and extrusion. PC plastic has excellent thermal properties and can be used for a long time between -100°C and 130°C. And the embrittlement temperature is below -100°C.

Optical lighting: used to manufacture large-scale lampshades, protective glass, left and right eyepiece tubes of optical instruments,etc.,and can also be widely used in transparent materials on airplanes.

Electronic appliances: Polycarbonate is an excellent E (120°C) grade insulating material, used to manufacture insulating connectors, coil frames, tube sockets, insulating sleeves, telephone shells and parts, and battery shells for miner’s lamps. It can also be used to make parts with high dimensional accuracy. Such as optical discs, telephones, electronic computers, video recorders, telephone switches, signal relays and other communication equipment. Polycarbonate thin film is also widely used as capacitors, insulating bags, audio tapes, color video tapes, etc.

Mechanical equipment: used to manufacture all kinds of gears, racks, worm gears, worms, bearings, cams, bolts, levers, crankshafts, ratchets. As well as some mechanical parts guards, covers, frames and other parts.

Medical equipment: cups, tubes, bottles, dental equipment, medicine containers and surgical equipment that can be used for medical purposes, and even artificial organs such as artificial kidneys and artificial lungs.
